This guide will help you set up a private area, where access is obtained , by a member reaching a certain post count.
So for example if you had a private area called photos , and you only wanted members with post counts of only 50 to enter, then this guide will show you HOWTODOIT.
Please remember to use the Editor account before making any template changes
Second you must have all ready a template you can edit.
If you have not done this please read HOWTODOIT
To Enable this you must have done the following things.
1. Set an area to private
2. Set Up A Usergroup
3. Allow A user group access to this area (You do not need to make them mods)
4. Set the filter Portal To your required settings
5. Set a new action in the action portal
If you have already set up a private area then skip to number 2.
1. Setting an area to private.
1. Goto admin panel --- 1. Forums --- Permissions --
Now using the drop box , find the required area , as shown below.
By clicking on Advanced settings.
Will display a screen like this.
Set the READ to private , If you want to keep this area totally secret , then make VIEW private as well.
Now click on submit.
2. Setting up of A Usergroup.
If you have already a usergroup that you are using then skip this stage and goto Number 3.
Goto admin panel --- 5. Groups --- Management --
You now see a screen like this
Click on create new usergroup.
Here you can set up the usergroups name and Description, you must also give this usergroup a moderator. Note Group moderators do not have the same powers as a normal moderator.
An example of how to set up a usergroup is below, Make sure you have the group set to hidden.
Once done click on submit.
3. Allowing The Usergroup Access To Private Area.
Goto admin panel --- 5. Groups --- Permissions
Find your usergroup as shown below and click on Look Up Group.
Now as shown below allow access to that usergroup, for the area we just set up.
When done, click on submit.

Goto admin panel --- 3. Styles -- Portal Settings
You should now see a screen like this. Please check that you have Portal settings for ACTIONS and FILTER
If you do not see them then please contact the Support forum, Please double check before first, as all forums should have these.
4 Filter Settings
Click on FILTER , you should now see a screen like this.
(a) Change the name from FILTER to FILTER1 ( or you could change it to the name of Your Usergroup).
The example below is based on a member reaching 20 posts, before they can enter your private area.
